Church family, we encourage you to join us in a sacred season of prayer, discipline, and spiritual renewal as we observe the 21-Day Daniel Fast, beginning tomorrow, Monday, January 12th through Sunday, February 1st.
In Daniel 10:2–3, Scripture tells us that Daniel humbled himself before the Lord for three full weeks, setting aside certain foods as he sought God with focus and devotion. As we follow this biblical example, we invite you to consecrate this time to prayer, reflection, and seeking God’s direction for our lives and our church.
In support of this fast, all members are invited to attend Prayer Vigil on:
Wednesday, January 14th & 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary
Please note: If you have medical conditions or dietary restrictions, we ask that you adjust the fast as appropriate or consult your physician for guidance.
Let us come together in unity, faith, and expectation as we seek the Lord.
The Daniel Fast for 21 days is a spiritual observance based on the Prophet Daniel's partial fast, focusing on prayer and a diet of whole foods like fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, and whole grains while abstaining from meat, dairy, sweeteners, processed foods, alcohol, and caffeine for spiritual focus, drawing from biblical accounts where Daniel abstained from "choice foods" for a period, leading to spiritual understanding and wisdom.

Social circumstances, political disarray, unjust systems, failed policies, and crumbling environments, combined with a worldwide pandemic, inherited dysfunctions, limited economic mobility, systemic racism, and communication divides, have led to the breakdown of the “health” of our families and communities.
Face the Moment is be well's call for everyone to rise up, support each other, and actively build a healthier, more equitable future. Now more than ever, community support, resource-sharing, and resilience are crucial. This campaign is about strengthening connections and taking action to address the deep-seated issues impacting our neighborhoods.
Today, we’re navigating a crucial time where the need for justice, health equity, and community resilience is front and center. Rising challenges in health and economic stability are pushing us to act. This moment is a chance for us to step up together, ensuring our communities are strong, connected, and prepared to face whatever lies ahead.
Facing this moment means building a future where everyone has access to support and resources, regardless of background. By standing together, we work to reduce health disparities, promote mental wellness, and strengthen the foundations of our communities. Each action we take now leaves a legacy of hope, resilience, and equity for the generations to come.
Every one of us has a role in facing this moment. Whether you’re a parent, a community leader, a neighbor, or a young person with a vision, Face the Moment calls us to step forward. Together, we have the strength to make the changes our communities need and create neighborhoods where everyone can thrive.
Since its inception in 2004, the be well Health and Wellness Initiative has strived to “advance equitable policies, programs and research by building the capacity of residents to advocate for the tools and resources they need to lead healthy lives and reduce the spread of health disparities.” be well is effectively fueling policies and practices that promote health equity by empowering communities to address structural racism. A key priority of the Initiative is to ensure all stakeholders have an active voice in determining the future of their communities. In addition, be well believes that strategic network building is central to sustainability and, to that end, invests in maintaining existing partnerships and establishing new ones with businesses and organizations, schools, individuals, and residents, among others, to leverage collective assets to better realize shared goals. The Initiative is also invested in scaling its tried and tested community mobilization model that is designed to address the root cause of health inequities – unjust systems – locally, statewide, nationally and internationally.
