Bereavement / Repast

Mission:

To let all of God’s creatures and children know that the love of Christ Jesus was sent from above to cover their sins. That (b) Jesus, the Son of God, is standing right now on the right hand of the Father pleading His bold in your behalf. That (c) He is asking the Father to spread His great love and mercy all over you right now, because He knows just how much you can bear during this time of missing your loved one.

The Gathering following the Funeral Service or Memorial:

It is open to family, out of town guest and ministries of our church. The gathering is held in the Gymnasium .. Rising Star prepares a maximum of 100 meals for each of its bereaved families. During 2017, our ministry served approx.: 23 families. 2018 and beyond, the goal is to serve wholesome meals to our bereaved families in the atmosphere of a loving family who is willing to comfort those who mourn. We realize that Matt. 10:42 ‘Whosoever shall give to drink unto one these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his rewards.

Scripture:

Feed the hungry and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness and the darkness around you will be as bright as 110011. Isaiah 58: 1O.

2017 Goals:

To offer consolation and comfort to aid members experiencing a loss.
To send cards, make calls and visits, offering prayers and our presence.
We will work with other ministries in service to bereaved members to bring oneness.
We will help those seeking understanding of grief and death stages
